I was at a youth group lock-in at a church last weekend and met a girl named Kaianne, pronounced Ky-Anne. WDYT?

Not a fan but I think it looks way nicer written down than it sounds when you say it. That being said you'd get Kay-Anne all the time.

It's an ok name, I think.

But I know a girl called Karianne, so to me it looks like there's missing a letter.

Nice, but if you're going to name your child after a spice, you could at least spell it properly...

Cayenne

Of course, if some one didn't recognize it, they would have trouble pronouncing it this way, too.

Thought 1: Like the...pepper...

Thought 2: I've heard of people, never having heard "Cheyenne" aloud, taking it to be pronounced as "cayenne." I wonder if this is one of those cases, and then they decided to give it their own twist as far as the spelling goes.

There's something pretty about it, though.

looks made up. i guess it doesn't sound bad, but i'd never use it. but if i WERE to use it, i'd definitely spell it cayenne, like the pepper, since it's actually a word.

a nice alternative would be cheyenne, which is an actual name and has a similar sound.
