What do you think of the name Luca for a girl


I know its traditionally a boys name but I think of it as a girls name esp since it ends in an A

also I know that Luca is a female name in Hungary according to behindthename.com

I like Luca, I prefer Gian-Luca for a boy.
But I think Luca on a girl would be cute, maybe something before or after it to make it so that you can tell its the name of a girl though.

it was just a name i heard of and liked. didn't really matter to me exactly where it came from. I focus more on the actual name than the origin of it

bc i know many people associate Luca with being a male name..because thats what it traditionally is in Italy. having it be a girls name is much less common. just trying to give people some extra info about it i guess.

I just can't picture it on a girl. I live in a place where there's a huge amount of Lucas running around, and all of them are boys. I do like Lucia, though, as a female alternative.

I like it on girls.
I know a girl called Luka, and it suits her very well. Because I've known her since I was little, I always thought of it as a girl's name, until I started watching ER =P.
I still like it much better on girls though.

It's always struck me as a very feminine boy's name, and I don't think I even knew it was supposed to be masculine until I saw the video for Suzanne Vega's song. I think it could pass for a girl's name, although name dorks like us might ask you about it.

There is a children's book called "Luka's Quilt". Luka is a girl, and the family is Hawaiian.

i really love it on a boy, its near the top of my boys list, and therefore, i am hoping it isnt one of those names that moves over to female. so, i dont like it on a girl, at all!
