My ex had an uncle named Phil--Phil Phillips.

I found out years later that his name's actually William or something common like that, everyone just called him Phil.

depends on how you pronounce it, but rhyming names are the best... to make fun of. haha. rhyming names i've seen:
William Hill (Bill Hill)
Marcus Clark (Marc Clark)
Matthew Blatt (Matt Blatt)

as for the same name, different nationality, for first & middle names, i see people do that more often than i'd like... for instance: Sean John lol. as for first/last name combos- i know a William Williams. *dies* it's not so bad when someone marries someone & takes their name (i knew a Mr & Mrs Brian & Kelley Kelly lol!) but to purposely do that to your kid.

He pronounced them as rhyming. It made me think of The Wedding Singer:

-"Gulia? Julia's name is going to be Julia Gulia? That's funny."
-"Why is that funny?"
-"...I don't know."

There's some state official here, I can't remember her position, but I see her name signed in so many places: Sherry Berry. I thought we were supposed to take professionals seriously...

As you said, I can see how a woman could fall into that through marriage, and if I do marry, I intend to take my husband's middle name...but if his last name is Mephanie, I won't need any time to reconsider that choice.

I know a William Williams, too. I think he's a III. It's nice that his family wants to carry on the tradition, but damn. I just realized, I never asked his middle name. Maybe it's Willy.

Rhyming names are pretty comical. I've known a Priscilla Cirilla and a Christina Opena.

That reminds me of Alice Calais, in Girl, Interrupted. I think if my parents had saddled me with such a name, I'd use a nickname (although it's a tough call between rhyming names and going by Prissy...).

I just not too long ago found out that a girl I went to school with married a guy with the last name Gay. Unfortunately, her name is Ray. So, she is now Ray Gay.

I know. I always think about that as well. I agree with your earlier comments where you said you wouldn't need time to reconsider not taking your husband's last name in that situation. Especially if, like below, I were to become Lindsey Lindsay. My last name doesn't bother me that bad. Haha.
