[identity profile] snowpenguin545.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Because it's more fun to play on livejournal than to finish my research paper that is due tomorrow, I present you with my favorite baby names:

Girl: Camdyn Aimee (or Amy, but I don't really like the combination of two "y"s)

Boy: William Trevor

So yeah, I'm not planning on having children anytime soon, but I've always wondered what other people would think of my favorite names.

I like your choices...Camdyn is on my short list for girls and William and Trevor are both on my short list for boys-but not in that combination-although it does sound nice together!

well I really like the show 7th Heaven and their last name is Camden...and I always thought it was a nice name but never really thought about it as a first name until I got pregnant, and my husband actually mentioned it for a boy or a girl...but we ended up naming our first one Tristan (boy) and our second one Skylar (girl) so the next one (if there is a next one) might get Camdyn :)

If you spelled Camden this way you wouldn't have a problem with the two "y"s. Camden was one of the streets I grew up on.

You're right, it does, so if you like it better that way then you should keep it and work out a middle name.

Hmph...I wonder what the origins of the name Camden are?? I'm in MA, where are you?

Foudn it:

From a surname which was from a place name perhaps meaning "enclosed valley" in Old English. A famous bearer of the surname was the English historian William Camden.

hehehe...you just made me think of Singin' in the Rain...when Debbie Reynolds is driving Gene Kelly home and she gets to the corner she says "here we are, Sunset and Camden" in a sing-songy voice...

I hadn't even though of Camden as a street till you said that you lived there.

I like how you spell Aimee. and I agree about the Y's. My name is Amy Kay and I think it has too many A's and Y's.

I have a Rat named Amie... so theres another spelling.

yup.

My pets names are Bart, Mace, Terahlyn, Amie, Zoey, Thanatos and Devi Maria.

Thanatos is in my icon. :) all but Mace and Bart are named after original characters of mine and my friend.

I like how you spell Aimee. I do not like Camdyn, no matter how you spell it. It just seems like a last name or a masculine name to me, even with a Y. I like your boys name, though. Not something I would choose, but it's nice.

An area of London is called Camden. It's really cool and "alternative", they have a great market there too. But it is full of druggies and tramps, so having been there I can't really think of it as a name for a person. But without the association I'm sure I'd love the name! But I prefer it spelt Camden.
