I stumbled upon this name while working at my job as a graphic designer/student assistant at my university's museum of dentistry (yes, there is such a thing as a museum of dentistry). It's the name of the saint of dentistry--haha. Personally, I like it, but would never use it for a child since I'd always be reminded of teeth and dentistry. Plus, my boyfriend says it sounds like a country.

Date: 2007-12-31 03:06 pm (UTC)I first heard the name when I was very young, I can't remember where. But I do remember that I thought it was "Abolognia,"...like...ah-bologna-uh. So that's what the name always makes me think of. And I really, really hate bologna.
Plus, it makes me think of Apollonia James, the female lead from "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank," as seen on "Mystery Science Theater 3000."
She's the one on the half-shell...As you can imagine, the name sounds comical to me now.
