I just met my former best friend. We have been best friends since Kindergarten until early High school but lost contact after she had to go to another school.
She's almost 9 months pregnant and plans to name her little girl Milane (prn. Mee-leyn, rhyming with pain), not sure about the spelling.

What do you think of that name? I don't really like it, it sounds trashy /=

Looking at it, I would pn mil-ane. I agree with the above comment. I don't particularly like it, but I don't think it sounds trashy.

if I read that name without knowing how it was said, I would have thought it'd be 'Milarney'.

Milane (pronounced the way you've said it) sounds pretty bad. I went to school with a couple of girls named Mylène/Milène (mee-len).
