The verdict is in.
Dec. 26th, 2007 01:19 pmAs a Christmas gift to my husband, we went in and found out the sexes of the triplets. I didn't want to know (I like surprises), but he has been practically begging me the entire pregnancy, so I let up and we had an ultrasound today. And the sexes are.....
GIRL, GIRL, and BOY!
The doctor says we're having "mixed triplets" -- the girls are identical, and the boy is fraternal.
We've decided on first names, which will be: Eleanor, Amelia, and Henry.
We're still tweaking out middle names.... want to help? Here is our list. Which names do you think go well with the three above? Any other names that you would suggest?
This is so exciting!

Date: 2007-12-26 07:39 pm (UTC)how is that possibble?
Anyway, how exciting..I LOVE Amelia and Henry! I don't care for Eleanor much, mostly because I don't like Ellie (I like Elle & Ella though, but I find it's usually shortened to Ellie :-/)
They all sound fantastic together though!
Henry Theodore
Henry Oscar
Henry Sebastian
Amelia Juliet
Amelia Violet
Amelia Soleil
Eleanor Florence
Eleanor Madeleine
Eleanor Marianne

And I really like Henry Sebastian. =]

Date: 2007-12-27 12:15 am (UTC)Mia is too, but more so because people like the name but find it too nickamey and want a 'proper' grown up name for the birth certificate.
In Australia it's considered a stand alone name though.. being number 3.
Lucky, wish I was called Amelia :-)

Date: 2007-12-26 10:53 pm (UTC)That said, I've also gone by E and El (or Elle or L), and people have offered up Ella, Nori, Nora, Ellen, Lennie, etc. as other options. I like some of those more than others, but any nick name will grow on you after a while I think.
And people will say Eleanor only if you insist, but I get a lot of requests for a nickname option. Three syllables is apparently too many.

Date: 2007-12-26 08:28 pm (UTC)i really like Amelia (my great grandmothers name), as well as Henry. Eleanor is definitely growing on me. i like that both Amelia & Eleanor can have little girl nicknames (Amy, Lia, Mel, Meli... Ellie, Elle, Ella, maybe even 'Ann', it would be a stretch but i've seen crazy nicknames lol), but also transform into solid, adult names, too.
as for middle names, i've looked at your list as well as added a few of my own lol:
Amelia May
Amelia Elise
Amelia Ann
Eleanor Catherine/Katherine
Eleanor Suzanne
Eleanor Susan
Henry Isaac
Henry Oliver
Henry Robert

Date: 2007-12-27 02:03 am (UTC)And oooh, I like Eleanor Suzanne and Henry Isaac. I would use Amelia Ann, but my name is Ann... and that'd seem a bit "unfair" to the others. Unless Eleanor got the middle name Elizabeth (my mn) and Henry got the middle name Harris (husband's name)... but the AA/EE/HH would be too much alliteration, haha.

Date: 2007-12-26 10:16 pm (UTC)As for combos, I'd go with:
Eleanor Kathleen or Eleanor Ruth
Amelia Ruth or Amelia Kathleen
Henry Theodore or Henry Samuel
Eleanor and Amelia would definitely be my first choice for the first names, too, but for a boy, I also love Theodore/Theo and Samuel. Any of those three for boys are fantastic.

Date: 2007-12-26 10:56 pm (UTC)As for the names, EXCELLENT. (Well, I might be biased because Amelia is my own name... but the others I love in their own rights). Theodore I would definitely use as a middle name for Henry, as well.
