My husband just threw a name for the baby at me that I would have never expected from him.

Augustus John

A.J. for short

Baby is due in August - and John is his Dad's name.

I like Gus for a nn, but that's me.

The last name is Hazzard

i dont think so, i see it as a male name. never thought about it as female, but now that i think about it, i really cant see it on a girl.

I like Augustus. I used to work at a daycare and there was a little blonde boy named Augustus (I always thought it was such a big name for a little boy, in a cute way). I'm not a huge fan of the nick name Gus, but I don't mind too much. AJ is okay, too, but I really think he should just be called Augustus.

And I love John as a middle name.

One of my next door neighbours is called Augustus and ALWAYS gets called Gus as a nickname, to the point where I would say most people think that's his full name.

I actually love Augustus (both as a name and as an emperor - he's my favourite Roman Emperor even though I know everyone else loves Hadrian the most. But Augustus was the first and the best, you know). It's on my list, for sure.
