Thoughts?

My husband and I have been trying to think of baby names and have come up with a few:

Girl:
Savannah Melinda
Jazilynn Melinda

Boy:
Zachary Michael
Zachary Damien
Zachary Taylor
Damien Michael
Damien Zachary
Damien Taylor

Any thoughts or suggestions? I don't want to use Michael as a first name for a boy since that's my husband's first name.

Savannah! Definitely. It's not a favorite of mine, but Jazilynn looks very trashy. I'm not saying that as an insult, I'm just saying that truthfully, it looks like a name that a stripper might use as a stage name, not necessarily something you'd want on your daughter. Savannah, while not a favorite of mine, is at least something that won't cause a ton of problems, and I like the nickname of Anna.

For the boy, I like Zachary Michael or Zachary Damien. I'm not really a fan of Damien as a first name, but it's okay. It just makes me think of like, demons, haha.

What she said! Jazilynn does look like a stage name in a strip club. Maybe a female wrestler on WWE...I like the name Savannah and Melinda is very pretty too. For the boys, Zachary Michael and Zachary Taylor are my favs from your list. I also don't like Damien because it sounds like "demon." I have known a couple Damiens that live up to that. One huge brat can ruin a name forever!

I hate the nickname Anna. Jazilynn would be a combination of Jazmine and Jocelyn to honor friends of mine who were killed.

I'm NOT thrilled with Damien for a first name or even a middle name at all. I can't help but think of the Omen every time I hear it.

Don't like Georgia. I know too many Samantha's and Jocelyn is pretty, but was my friend's name that passed away. I don't want anything too common and Aimee is becoming VERY common. Scarlett reminds me of Gone with the Wind and I can't stand anything with the name Ann or Ana, so Anabel would be out. Cassandra is my cousins name and Madison is one of my duaghter's names, so Madeleine would be too similar. I get very picky when it comes to names and unfortunately, my husband wants input as well. LOL

Zachary Michael and Zachary Taylor are my favs too from the boys, but unfortunately, I have a husband who loves the name Damien. And something about the name Damien Michael (that he wants) has me convinced that the baby will come out with horns.

I agree with everyone. Jazilynn sounds like a trashy strip club name to me. Savannah and Melinda are both very nice, though I don't think they flow together well. Zachary and Damien are both nice. I don't get the demon association when I see the name. I wouldn't go with Zachary Taylor though, as that was the name of the 12th president of the US. Unless you're not American, in which case, people might not make that connection.

I really don't want to name a baby after a state and not fond of the name Jessamine. Eden and Sylvia just remind me of old lady names.

The only boys name I could even imagine would be Dylan. That wouldn't be too bad.

What about Jazilynn as a middle name? I can definitely understand you wanting to use it, but people aren't going to know it's after someone, or that it means anything to you, and are going to assume things when they hear the name.

Savannah Jazilynn wouldn't be bad, or are you totally set on using Melinda as the middle name?

If you're trying to compromise with him, I'd say go with Zachary Michael or Zachary Damien. That way he's getting the middle name he wants, but it's a first name that you don't have a problem with. I think having the Omen as your first thought when you hear the name is a legitimate reason for veto-ing it as a first name, if not a middle name as well.

No, Savannah Jazilynn would be ok. I'm not sure I like the spelling of Jazilynn though and can't think of another way to spell it right now because I'm having a pregnancy brain dead day. I want to pronounce it (Jaz a lynn)

Honestly, I'm not fond of the name Damien at all. While trying to be nice, I absolutely hate it and can't think of a nicer way to put that. LOL

I actually like Zachary Michael. It's so hard to come up with names when you stop and realize that the name you give a child will mold their lives forever. UGH...too much pressure. LOL

i'd suggest NOT using the name damien. reason:THE OMEN MOVIES. you porbably didn't know, but zachary taylor was the 12th president of the us. if you like history it might be cool. i like zachary michael too.

I don't want to use the name Damien at all. I do know that Zachary Taylor was the 12th president, but needed to find a compromise with the husband since he likes it. My fav name so far is Zachary Michael. Thanks though.

I'd probably spell it Jazalyn or Jazilyn, just to make it look a little less...complicated? Jazilynn looks too much like the variations of Katelynn vs. Katelyn where the extra n just makes it look unnecessary.

I think Savannah Melinda is OKAY. I'm not a huge fan of the name Savannah, or the sound of the two names together. ::shrug:: and I hate to say it, since you said it's a honorary name, but Jazilynn is no good. I hate to think of the nickname "Jazzy" and it indeed sounds like some kind of stage name.

BUTTT I'm going to go completely against the grain and say I love Damien Michael. I prefer the spelling Damian, though. My impression of the name isn't "demon" or anything like that, even with the movies... ::shrug::

And... Zachary Taylor reminds me of the oldest son from that show "Tool Time" with Tim Allen. Haha.

I love Savannah! The spelling of Jazilynn looks stripper-ish. Maybe Jaslyn, as a middle name for Savannah? Also, it could be a stretch, but Jacqueline looks like it could be a combination of Jazmine and Jocelyn.

Savannah is...meh. Compared to Jazilynn, it's gorgeous, but I much prefer something more tradition like Suzanna or Suzette (which remind me of Savannah).

I don't know if you're planning on having more kids. but you could just Jazmine as a middle name for one child and Jocelyn for another. Or maybe look through some names and find one with a meaning that reminds you of both of your friends? Just a suggestion :)

It's not just the movie that has me not liking the name. I know too many people who like using nicknames and I don't want anyone yelling to my son, "HEY DAME...get over here!"

Jazilynn just sounds like you've got a mouthful of marbles. I know it's to honor your dead friends, but you've really got to think of another way to do that. Did they have middle names? Last names that could go as a middle name? Something else. Please.

I like Savannah best of what you have up there, but in reality I can't handle that name because around here, most people use it because that's where their child was conceived and that's all I ever think of when I think of Savannah. Or they honeymooned there. I can't think of Savannah without thinking of the place.

I like Zachary Taylor the best of your boys names.
