I don't understand what is going on in these parents' heads.

Future parents: You look like an idiot when you "misspell" your child's name or give them a weird name to try to make them "unique". A NAME DOES NOT MAKE THE CHILD UNIQUE. The child's personality does. That is all.

i don't like the name axel as it is, but i certainly hate aksel.

Well, Urban is a real name. It was the name of several popes. But somehow I don't think the parents had that in mind when they named him. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

I don't know about Askel, but Urban is a very very old fashioned male name. it's a family name in my friends family, and her brother is named Urban, it's been around since atleast the 1700s, so perhaps its a traditional name for that family too. i thought it was very weird at first, but now its grown on me.
