My friend wrote to me today and mentioned her new roommate in college is named Ellie Kate. I'm not sure if Kate is her middle name, but people call her Ellie Kate, and not just Ellie. What do you all think of the name? Despite myself I find myself liking it more and more.

I like the name Ellie Kate...but I'm just sort of used to double names in general. my mom's two sisters are Betty Jane (Elizabeth Jane) and Mary Lou (Mary Louise). actually, my mom is the only one without a double name. she also has cousins named Barabra Ellen, Caryl Anne, and Mary Elizabeth.

but...Ellie Kate is cute, and I know how much you like the name Kate so...yeah.

That name is my new obsession. I'm usually not into double names but it's so pretteh. Mollie keeps calling her Ellie by mistake so she said she just goes, "Hey, Ellie...

I'm not either, but I can't help liking it anyway--I'm not sure why. I think it's because Ellie and Kate separately bring forth such different images to me, both positive, and Ellie Kate sort of combines them. But I bet the double name is an issue, especially without the hyphen. I want to ask my friend to ask her about it, but not everyone, I keep forgetting, are randomly obsessed with names. Hee.

OMG! Haha. I was reading my friends page and I saw someone left a comment on another friends page. And then I made my way here through her journal. And I found YOU! Haha.

I LOVE the name Ellie. Love love love. Ellie Kate is kind of... abrupt or something, but I like it. I think Ellie Katherine is cute but not if you're doing a two name thing. *shrugs*
