i was thinking about this today, because i saw a girl's nametag... Seasen. this reminded me of the other word names i have seen misspelled: Spryng, Vylet, Skyye, Huntyr, Summir (i knew this girl personally... but, wtf, SUMMIR! could you seriously NOT spell Summer?).

this gets more of a reaction out of me than the Michaela/Mikayla, Ashley/Ashlee, Aidan/Aedan/Aiden spelling debates.

Wow, I didn't even realize Seasen was supposed to be pronounced like "season" for like five minutes. I was thinking something like "Sean-sen."

But god...those are AWFUL. Y's need to be banned from the English language for this very reason. Except maybe with something like Yvonne or Yvette.

At first I read "Seasen" like it was some kinda Irish, pronounced SHAY-son, completely different from season.

Those seriously suck ... although Season looks like it might be legit - it reminds me of Gaelic names that look like they were misspelled but weren't.

Except maybe it's just fugly.

I don't even like when Summer is spelled Somer. Vylet is particularly bad because it removes a syllable. Well, half a syllable, anyway. And Skyye...what, like the vodka? But wait! It's still not spelled correctly.

Do I laugh or cry at this point?

It gets a much strong reaction out of me too. I think it's because those are actual nouns that are just completely misspelled.
The Dutch word for 'concise' is 'summier'...so that's all I can see when reading Summir. It looks ridiculous (all the other names do too).
