While eating lunch at Atlanta Bread Company with one of my friends a cute little girl comes scurrying (Yes. Scurrying) over to our table. The mother/grandmother (I couldn't figure it out) followed behind.

"Come on Kensington"

wdyt?

The ONLY reason i actually kinda like it is because of the possibility of the nickname Kenzie/Kensi, which i love (The mother/grandmother person called the little girl Kenzie a few times). But i'm not crazy about it.

Too long and pretentious sounding. I think it would fit better on a boy.

The only reason I would like it, is if it were a family name. Like the mother/grandmother's maiden name. Otherwise, I agree with the pretentiousness....if that is a word:)

I knew a guy with a daughter named Kensington Cheyenne. Her last name was a mouthful, too.

I think it's an unfortunate name.

I'm from a neighborhood in Philadelphia called Kensington. It's infamous for it's toothless hookers and crack whores..

My husband is from Frankford. He joined the marine corps and as soon as I graduated high school, I did a semester at CCP, decided to marry him and move to california.

I moved back in 05-06 while my husband was on deployment, but I lived in port richmond.

I went to franklin towne charter, so quite a bit of my friends were from mayfair/tacony/rhawnhurst.

i've never liked it, kinda feminized-cocky if ya ask me..

not to mention i have a personal distaste for it since some of our former best friends liked OUR baby name of McKenzie so much that they named their baby Kenzington on purpose to call her the same nickname of Kenzie

That's weird - I know a little girl named Kensington. Her nn is Kenzie as well.

I think you mean "ok - bad" - think about it! There are TWO little girls unfortunately named Kensington w/ the nn Kenzie out there.

I love it. Then again, I do like a lot of names that are considered pretentious, like Sheridan and Blaine.
