Dec. 8th, 2007 06:25 pmI'm reading a book -- Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver -- that is set in Appalachia, so some of the names are really interesting to me, and I actually like a lot of them. I just wondered what everyone else though, so I've created a poll. Not all of the names are listed -- I just listed the ones that I remembered without flipping back through the book too much, and I haven't finished yet, so if there are any characters that are named late in the book, they're not on the list.
My favorites are Lusa (she says later in the book that it's Polish, and short for Elizabeth), Emaline, Jewel, Cole, Joel, and Lowell.

Date: 2007-12-08 11:38 pm (UTC)I love the novel, but I think my favorite so far is The Bean Trees. But I've been told that I'll probably like Animal Dreams even more, and I'm still only half-way through The Poisonwood Bible, so I'm not sure how I'll feel once I finish them all.
