Kaylen Noelle

I absolutely love the name Kaylen, even though it is trendy.

So, WDYT? And how would you spell it?

Kaylen
Kaelen
Kahlen
Caelen
Caylen
Kailen
Kaylynn
Kailynn
Other?

that's a name we had picked out if my son had been a girl. he is 3, so we picked it out nearly 4 years ago. eek, seems like yesterday!

i like it spelled: Kaylen, Kaylin, Kaelyn, Cailyn. i don't like Kaylynn because i'm not a fan of the multiple Ys in names, usually.

i prefer the spelling Kaelen/Kaelan because it reminds me of the "old" spellings.. (kind of like Aeryn instead of Erin/Aaron)

I love Noelle and Kailynn even though its popular it just reminds me of a happy and bouncy little girl.

I wouldn't personally use either name b/c they're not my style but I still think they are nice :)

My sister named her oldest daughter Kaelyn (because our mother's middle name is Kay and my sister's middle name is Lynn). That's my preferred spelling of it. I don't know what I would think of the name if I didn't associate it with my cute little niece; I had never heard of it before my sister said she was considering it (this was years ago).

If I have a daughter I'm naming her Kaylea because my Mom's middle name is Kay and my sister's middle name is Lea. Haha.

There is something so sweet about that to me. My niece was given middle name Marie, after my middle name. Awwww...

Yeah, my potential future daughter will have my middle name. Kaylea Renee'. I came up with that name a couple of years ago and told my mom and sister. So, now I can't ever back out of it (not that I want to!) Of course, my sister and I have decided that she is having all the girls, and I'm having all the boys. My family has a long history of only having one sex of children, and siblings have opposite sexes. She already has a daughter...so I get boys. Haha. I already named her first daughter (Annabelle Lea. Annabel Lee was my favorite name, but she wanted to use her middle name for her daughter, so I gave it to her) and if/when she has another daughter, I MIGHT give her Kaylea Renee' because I'm scared we won't get too many more girls to have the name. Haha.

I have when comments get this long and it would only take me 2 seconds to say/explain that out loud.

No worries, I know exactly what you mean on the long comments thing. That happens to me a lot.

Aw, this is sweet! If I have a boy, I want to name him Gabriel Ian, Ian being for my brother.

That's a really cute name. Pretty much all of my favorite names have an original first name and the middle name is after a family member I love. =)

Well, I'd pronounce some of these differently. I like Kaylin (KAY-lihn) best, and I like Kaylen but I'd say (KAY-lehn).

I went to high school with a Cailan. I think I'd spell it Cailyn or Caylen.

I'd spell it Kaelin, although I really don't like the name. No matter how it's spelled, it always makes me think it's a typo of Caitlin/Kaitlyn/Katelyn.

I love Noelle, though.

I really like that name. I would probably spell it Kaylin because that would be my mom's middle name and the first three letters of mine. If I weren't already using Kaylea, it would probably be one of my favorites. Kaylea and Kaylin is a BIT much for siblings, though. Haha.

Cailin. My friend has a daughter with this spelling.

I like the combo.

Kaylen. The other ones look wrong to me for some reason?

I know a Kalen Noelle, pronounced like Kaylen but a little less choppy. The mom chose the spelling Kalen so people wouldn't sound it out like "KAY-LYNN", and it couldn't be shortened to Kay or Lynn. She and her husband don't like nicknames. So far their naming strategies (they have 5 kids) has worked.

I've a friend who spells it Kalin. I think I prefer it without Ys. But Kaylin works for me too, I think.

I prefer not at all. Not a name. Katherine (or Kristen or Caitlin or whatever) Lynn could be nicknamed Kaylen.

Really?
The meaning of the name Kaelin is Pure

The origin of the name Kaelin is Celtic/Gaelic

behindthename.com says it's not found. The closest they come up with is Cailin (a variant spelling of Colleen) and Kaylyn (a modern invention combining Kay and Lynn).

I'm guessing you're finding the name means pure because that's the meaning of Katherine and Kay usually comes from Katherine.

I think it's pretty, regardless of the "trendy" thing. If I were to use it, I'd probably spell it Kailyn.
