[identity profile] collide.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My daughter is due in 5 weeks and a few days. Although I do have a definite first name picked out and have a middle name to go with it, I need some more suggestions. Baby's dad doesn't think the name "flows" and I'd like him to like the name his daughter is going to have.

His thing is he thinks a middle name should be (or atleast sound) the same or shorter in length than the first name. This is almost impossible since her first name will be Ava.

I need a few suggestions of a not so incredibly popular name that flows well with Ava and into Johnson. I don't like "creative" spellings and I'd rather not use a name like Marie, Elizabeth or Ann since these seem to be every other little girls middle name.

So help me out and fill in the blank. Ava ______ Johnson

Ava Leann
Ava Danielle
Ava Michelle
Ava Noelle
Ava Nicole

I like that with a three syllable name stressed on the first syllable.

Something that started with a consonant would probably work best, so the first and middle names don't run together. (I'm also staying away from middles that end in -a or the -n sound since the first and last names already do that.) Maybe:

Ava Betony (http://www.essexwt.org.uk/Species/Plants3/betony%20(KK).jpg) Johnson
Ava Cecily Johnson
Ava Isabel Johnson
Ava Jessamy Johnson
Ava Juliet Johnson
Ava Romilly Johnson

Ava Mia Johnson

Ava Kaia Johnson

Ava Lina Johnson

Ava Jennifer Johnson (I know that is long, but nobody seems to use Jennifer as a middle name, it's only used as a first name.)

Ava Jenna Johnson (shorter version.)

Good luck!

p.s. I also really like Ava Genevieve Johnson, but your husband probably wouldn't hear of it. Nonetheless I had to mention it.

It's one of the older variant spellings - Rebekah is the Hebrew version and the h hung on in Anglicized versions for quite a long time.

A friend's daughter is Rebekah, too. Yeah, it is a bit long with the cc. Just pointing out that you hadn't actually made it up out of nowhere, even if you thought you had. ;)

I love the name Ava! It's so unusual these days. Personally with such a short name I'd go for a longer middle name so and for some reason I'm favouring the "a" sound at the end of the middle name. So I love names like:

Ava Isabella (my favourite!)
Ava Christina
Ava Liliana
Ava Fiona
Ava Gabriella
Ava Carlotta
