Do you guys have any long standing favorite names?

I've liked the name Oliver since I was about 8 or 9...I'm 19 now. Even though I don't plan on having kids in the forseeable future (if at all), I've liked Oliver so long that I'm pretty sure I'll like it still in another 10 years, even if the popularity does spike like it looks like it will. I think I've set so much store by it that I'll be pretty devastated if, for any reason, I'm not able to use the name. I have a "top 5" for each gender, but for girls they rotate from about 20 names constantly. For boys its a little more constant but still I don't have any that I'm especially attached to, except for Oliver.

I love Amelia and Julian, and have for about 3 years now. But I think they're both slowly being edged out by other names. :(

I've always loved Emily and Michael. Unfortunately, Emily is way too popular for me to use and Michael is my brother's name, so I'll only use it as a middle.

I was once set on the names Liliana and Gavin. For years I had planned these names and my Boyfriend (now my husband) loved them as well. It was when I was in a store last year and several people were calling out the names Lily and Gavin that my love for these names faded. I also had a few coworkers with children named Lily.

I was heartbroken in a way, as silly as that sounds, but now I don't even like the name Lily as much. Gavin is still standing on the list as a possibility simply because my husband and I have such a hard time agreeing on a male name.

Edit: Oh, whats funny is that we now like the name William which is much more popular than Gavin has ever been.

I've loved the name Anthony-Carmine or Anthony with Carmine as the middle name for years now, about 5 or 6 years.
I also really like Santino (nn Sonny) for about 3 or 4 years now also.

I've always liked the name Simon, it's always been my number one boy's name.
Elin came on the scene 5 years ago and it still hasn't changed.

Cadence has been a favorite name of mine, probably for the last 6 or 7 years. Way before it gained such immense popularity, and started being spelled with a K instead, which I'll never understand.

I've loved the name Madelief for 6 years now (it's Dutch and means 'daisy' =)), and I've liked Roman a lot for...well...4 years, I believe.

I have loved Emily, Lyla, James, and Michael for the past four years now.

Although James and Michael would only be middle names, and Emily is way too popular to use for now.

Maybe it'll change by the time I have children, which won't be for quite some time.

Norah has been one of my favourite names since I read a book with a character named Norah when I was about ten. So nine years.

I've liked Nicholas since I was about ten (so, about eight years). I feel like I've liked Serena (to differing degrees of intensity) ever since I was eight and watched the bastardized English-language version of Sailor Moon on Cartoon Network (ten years, then).

I've had Olivia picked out as a girl's name since I was 14 years old (I'm 24 now). Back then, it was virtually unheard of, but now everyone and their dog is named Olivia... it has lost its originality/uniqueness. Instead, if we someday have a girl, I'm thinking Olive...

I got the name Olivia because it was Sailor Saturn's French civilian name XD
I also started loving the name Séverine (which I had never heard before) because it was Sailor Pluto's French civilian name.

Ha, that's so cool! Saturn was Hotaru in both English and Japanese, which I was never fond of, and Pluto was Trista in English (which I didn't like) and Setsuna in Japanese (which I kind of like, but I'm not Asian, so it would be kind of odd for me to use it, probably).

I basically decided when I was in about the 9th grade that I was going to name my first son Oliver Weston, and it still stands today. So that would be about...*counts*...8 years. Weston is my dad's middle name, and I just love the name Oliver. All these years later, it's still my favorite. :o)

As for girls, I have always loved the names Hannah and Shannon, but I had forgotten about then until recently. I still love them.

Funny story: My mom says that when I was little, I used to claim that I was going to have twin boys and name them Chip and Dale, because I loved the t.v. cartoon show so much, hahaha.

I think James has been on my list for at least 4 years, and because it's so classic, I don't see it leaving.
Also, Madeline.

James. I've loved James ever since I was five. I used to tell people that it would have been my name if I were a boy - actually, I would have been Jacob, but I just liked James better.

I've loved the names Daphne, Emma and Anthony for as long as I can remember. Still do.

Used to like Heidi a lot, but not so much anymore...
