I'm having a boy and he's due on december 15th.
and I love the name Kameryn Lain.
But everyone tells me Kameryn with a K and a Y is too girly. what do you think?

the "K" works but the "y" makes a bit too feminine for me but ultimately you're the one who has to decide.

Yes, definitely reminds me of Kathryn, and it just doesn't look right.

Not too girly, just... awful. Sorry. What's wrong with Kameron/Cameron?

It just seems strange to me, like spelling it differently just for the sake of being different. Also, I can see it being shortened to Kammy, which is, imo, a very girly nn.

I honestly think that giving names different spellings just confuses people. I think Cameron is perfectly fine. I do like the name you've picked though. Cameron Lain is very cute. If I saw the name "Kameryn" I would probably think of a female.

Too girly. Also, I had to say the name aloud five times to figure out that it was pronounced 'Cameron'. That's not a good thing.

I agree that it's feminine, especially with a middle name like Lain. Also, I just plain don't like 'creative' name spellings.
Cameron is a gorgeous name though :)

Same here

Cameron Lane (or even Kameron Lane) would be unisex, but not scream 'girly/creative spelling'. It's a great name.

I have to agree with the majority of the other commenters - it's too girly. Cameron would be much better than Kameryn (it looks too much like Katheryn). I've always considered Lain to be a girl's name, too.

Kameryn = FEMININE.

Just spell it correctly to avoid confusion later on.

I agree with most people.

Girly.

And a nonsensical spelling. What's the point?? What's wrong with Cameron? That's how everyone will spell his name anyway.

If I was a boy named Kameryn, I'd be changing my name as soon as I turned 18.

Yeh i think it does look really girly actually. Not so much the 'K' but the 'y' does a lot. I do like the names though, they flow really well. I like the spelling of Lain though :-D

Well, I would assume that was a girl... because for some reason it's always the girls with the bad spellings, and boys with the traditional ones.

Even if it wasn't girly it just looks wrong and it's not very practical. Kameron or Cameron is the way to go with that name.

I second that..

or if you are really in love with the name, save it for when/if you have a girl? =)
