[identity profile] ex-bluebonn.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Slightly atrocious baby names pulled from the web site I shared earlier.  These are either creative abominations or other names that I particularly disliked.

Abby Gail-Agnes (It’s like Emma Leigh)

Abygaellexxxxxxxxxxx (and there are OTHERS w/ XXXXXs in their names wth)

Aby-Meggan

Adia-Lily-Lee

Afroditi (like Aphrodite?)

Albertine-Brittany (like, the most old-fashioned name paired w/ Brittany)

Alende-Glory Tag

Allyssen

Ambre

Amelic

Anahi de Los Angeles (not sure if this is a legit name or if she’s actually from LA)

Anaxella Anniella

Ana-Yarllette

Angelick

Anny (also found Any)

Ariel C B

Avigayil

Baby-Lee

Blessing

Blimy

Bri-Anna

Chabou Marie Aurore

Chanel

Chantilly

Chateaugsta (I really don’t get this one.)

Chenille

Cherish Grace

Cindy-Loo

Cly

Dulcymielle

Edelweiss

Elle Lilin Kyuss

Elysabelle

Emily A

Eryka-Sunshine

Eucharista (hope she’s religious)

G Gunesika

Gracieuse-Annie (gracious Annie?)

Heavenly

Ho Lisa (I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Ho is an ethnic name, but it’s still really, really, really unfortunate)

Jad/Jadd (Jade as it is pronounced phonetically in French – rhymes w/ sad)

Karolan/Karolane/Karol-Ann/Karolanne/Karol-Anne

Kasandra-KLL

Katsitsataknoniahkw (sounds ethnic, but I hope she’s a good speller)

There are many more, but sadly I'm wasting precious essay-writing time, lol.

French people love hyphens, it's a disease.

My mother's best friend is actually Abby Gail. First name Abby, middle name Gail. And the woman is in her early 50's.

Let me show you some language learnings

Chabou Marie Aurore...my first thought was Chubbo. Hope she's not a fatty.

Chantilly is destined to grace the pages of adult magazines everywhere. Or maybe just the gentlemen's club stages.

I don't think that's Franglais... it's just mangled French.

I'm still trying to figure out how to pronounce it. 'Sha-toeg-sta'?

Avigayil is perfectly legitimate. It's Hebrew. The English version is Abigail. :-)

But I really don't know what to say to any of the others, besides...good grief.

Oh yes, it's badly mangled French. I'd tell you what the French word for August is, but I'm sure you know already, and I can't be bothered going to look for the circumflex.

I don't have a problem with hyphens, but Adia-Lily-Lee is just crazy. On the other hand, Adialilylee would probably cause pronunciation difficulties =P
Blimy?! LOL! That's awful, actually.
I have actually heard Elysabelle once before, but it was spelled Elisebelle. I also heard Irisabelle.
Katsitsataknoniahkw looks like her parents went dkjnvkdjsnf on a keyboard...
Ho Lisa & Gracieuse-Annie are bad as well. Pffsht.

Maybe when the census person was typing out Abigailxxxxxxx, it was really just Abigail, but then the census person accidently set down a book on top of the keyboard and all of the xxxxxx came out...one can hope!
