Jennifer Jason Leigh. Her name is actually Jennifer Leigh Morrow (Vic Morrow's daughter), but she did the first-and-middle-only stage name deal, and threw in the Jason as an homage to Jason Robards, who was apparently close to their family.
Wow, I feel creepy for knowing that. I'm just a big fan of hers.
I quite like it. I think it has quite a flowing, pretty sound that actually suits girls. Its just traditionally used as a boys name is all. I think for a name to be inherently masculine it has to have a sharp, harsh 'male' sort of a sound, not just be traditionally used on me. I can see Ryan on a girl more than I can see Derek or Ben
In general, I like a lot of boy's names on girls, but Jason...not really. It's a hero in the Greek myth of Medea. A masculine hero. Maybe the parents liked the thought of her being a heroine? ;)
