 In the birth announcements this weekend there was quite a gem!

Jesse James lastname.

I kid you not.

Also, in China
3,000: approximate number of parents in China who named their baby after the Beijing Olympi Games. Most the of the 3,491 children given the name Aoyun, or Olympics, were born around 2000, when Beijing was bidding to host the even. Others were names after the Five Friendlies, the mascots of the Games.

And in my Politics, Protest and Music class we were talking about Woody Guthrie and his kids names were Nora and Arlo.
I kind of like them...

at least little Jesse will generally not be known by his full name. Although... my brother went to school with a boy called Jesse MN James, so he actually was referred to as "Jesse James". He turned out as expected - dreadlocked, wild but lots of fun. lol

Nora and Arlo are a nice sibset. I also don't mind them...

And there's that guy who's married to Sandra Bullock who's named Jesse [fn] James [ln] but really I don't think that's his real name.

It seems weird to me that people who name their kids after someone who robbed banks and killed people.

Actually, that is Jesse James' real name. He's a distant relative of the infamous Jesse James.

Yeah, so did I, until my brother caught me watching Monster Garage and decided to fill me in on Jesse James' life history. His son's name is Jesse James as well, but at least their family has some claim to it; it's weird when random people use it.
