What are your opinions on the name Camille? My Dad's assitant has a daughter with that name. I think it's very pretty.

I really like the name Camille. I knew two sisters once by the names of Camille and Corinne, and I think both names are just lovely.

It's weird. When I think about it objectively, I like it and thinks it's pretty. But my first association of that name is of a ditzy, slightly slutty airhead blonde. I must have seen it on a sitcom at some point. Crazy.

It was one of my choices as a girl's name for the baby I just had. I have a male friend with the name and absolutely love it, but I wouldn't name a boy it, personally.

I would have used it but my aunt used it on my cousin (who is now 7) and I'm trying to avoid family names.

Not for me. It reminds me of Gonzo's pet chicken Camilla from Jim Henson's "The Muppets."

Hurricane Camille?

That is what I was thinking. A lot of people were hurt in that hurricane, so I personally wouldn't use it.

It's ok. Kind of reminds me of hurricanes though. And I don't love the "meal" sound in it -- I like Camilla more.

I love it! It sounds very classy and much nicer than Camilla (Camilla Parker-Bowles immediately springs to mind).

It's good because Camille Saint-Saƫns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint-Saens) is good. Even though he's a man. But that doesn't matter. Meredith Willson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meredith_Willson) was also a man. I think - especially these days - anything goes in terms of what you name your baby, whether or not the name is associated with one gender over the other. I'm seriously considering a gender-bending name for my child.
