Nov. 7th, 2007 05:40 pmInspired by "Do you like any names soley for their meanings?"-
Are there any names you like but wouldn't use because of their meanings?
For example, I like James but not it's ultimate meaning of 'supplanter'.

Salome in the bible demanded John the Baptists head, i believe by her mother's order as payment for a dance. Not so peaceful, eh?

Date: 2007-11-07 11:08 pm (UTC)Like, I love the name Alice, but don't like "Of a noble kin" as a meaning. However, I am pretty sure most people think of Alice in Wonderland, not it's English meaning. ;)
Not sure about my second favorite, Matilda, which means "battle might." That could or could not be cute.
