[identity profile] geogirl.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm about 2 weeks away from my due date. I had one ultrasound at 20 weeks and the technician told me it looked like a girl. Only we didn't actually see girl parts, just the absence of boy parts. While I'm fairly certain that my baby is a girl, I'm really feeling the need to have a boy name ready just in case. I'm at a total loss. A girl name was so easy for me!

My 3 year old daughter's name is Madelyn Elizabeth. This new baby will be Caroline Grace. So that's my style. Popularity is not a huge issue with me, though I would like to stay out of the top 20 or so. I like traditional and classic names.

Any suggestions? I need help because I can't come up with anything at all!!!

You have really really great taste in names:) I prefer Madeleine to Madelyn, but otherwise, both girl names are ones that I would have picked myself (including middle names!)

I think the top 3 names I'd pair with your daughter's are:
1. Philip Charles
2. Miles Peter
3. Julian Garrett (nn Jude)

Actually, scratch that. Julian rhymes too much with Madelyn (and with Caroline, if you were to have another girl at some point). I like Jonas Henry better.

Those are some great suggestions. I'd take two of yours and pair up: Henry Oliver. Very classic, strong male names.

Charles, maybe, since it's a male version of Caroline?

Charles Gabriel, Charles Gavin, Charles Grant, Charles Grey...

Unless you're planning on saving Caroline Grace for a third child. In which case, I'm pretty bad at giving suggestions more or less out of thin air.

Caroline Grace is lovely, by the way.

Caroline is very nice, though I think a more special mn would only enhance it.

Boy names that are traditional and well known without being in top 20:

Theodore
Joel
Elliot
Colin
Nathan
Martin
Blake
