Date: 2007-10-31 03:15 am (UTC)I actually like a lot of these names simply because they suit the characters they belong to, but I'm not sure how far I'd go in giving them to my children. Jolyon is a great name, but for a real life boy in 2007? I'm not too sure.
I know a St.John, who pronounces it 'Sinjin'. The name has been given to the first born male in their family for generations, so I guess it must be one of those old fashioned beauties that has slipped through. I can't recall how the name is pronounced in the BBC series.

Date: 2007-10-31 03:20 am (UTC)I looove the names Soames. But I could never use it given the character. Although I can't see why Irenie hates Soames so much. She does realize that's Damian Lewis, right?
