Oh one of my favourite books! I love the BBC series too, hooray!

I actually like a lot of these names simply because they suit the characters they belong to, but I'm not sure how far I'd go in giving them to my children. Jolyon is a great name, but for a real life boy in 2007? I'm not too sure.

I know a St.John, who pronounces it 'Sinjin'. The name has been given to the first born male in their family for generations, so I guess it must be one of those old fashioned beauties that has slipped through. I can't recall how the name is pronounced in the BBC series.

It's SIN-jun (not so much jin, closer to jon but not that either).

The Leader of the House of Commons was Norman St.John-Stevas when I was about 10 so I picked it up by pronunciation first, from the news.
