I named my son Jayden - 4 years ago when I hadn't met anyone with the name. I actually read it in a magazine and thought it was the coolest name ever. Needless to say, I'm kicking myself now.
I agree! But then, I have always always always wanted to use the name Lillian. ALWAYS. Forever. Cause it was my grandmother's name, and I just think it's beautiful. Still might use it (except that my niece is Lilliana, and it might be way weird for me to use like the same name). But I see that Lily/Lillian/Lilliana is becoming all popular now. I'm like "NO!!! Don't steal my perfect naaaaaame!"
that happened to me too! I have always loved the name emma, because I love the jane austen book. I chose that ages ago, then Friends had to go ruin it. but I am smart and literary!!
Oh well. we still plan on using it anyway. even if it means there will be 5 of them running around kindergarten. I picked it first. :P
I've heard niVAY and niVAYuh. I think it's a really tacky name, though. I once saw a kid on one of those hospital websites (looking for my cousin's son) named "Heaven Nevaeh." Overkill much?
lol, that was awesome. Cause you KNOW they're going to have to explain that to everyone for the rest of their lives. Just like every kid with a dumb spelling of a classic name.
No, I think it's supposed to be nuh-vay-uh. That's how I'd say it. I don't know. My brother's girlfriend wants to name a future daughter that. I'm like "Oh... please... don't...!!!" Considering my nephew is Dominick (CLASSIC!) and my niece is Lilliana (I'd prefer Lillian, but whatever). I think they have such strong, classic, nice names... and Nevaeh would just be weird with those two names. Plus, I think the idea of it is dumb. Heaven... spelled backwards. So, the opposite of Heaven? Call her Hell. That'll work.
I've never understood the rationale for this one. Reversing something doesn't suggest that you revere it. It suggests that you disrespect it, reject it, or oppose it. Just think of the impression you get when someone replaces God with Dog.
There is a girl who is probably not even 19 yet and she just had her second child. Her name is Nevaeh. After she told me, before I could even blink, she exclaim's "Its Heaven spelled backwards!". I wanted to say, "I know, I've heard that dumb name a million times over." but I was nice. :) Although it's a nice gesture, its not the best idea IMO to name your baby that. She also has a son named Kaleb.

I honestly see that name in every baby announcement section of the newspaper every week. It's nuts. Lots of people have grabbed on to it.
