Addison is terrible. Its popularity is due to a TV show, it's a surname, the name of a disease, and is pretty much the trendiest thing you could name your kid, plus it just sounds awful. Addie is a nickname. It doesn't work as a full name.

Adrienne is nice. Dominique and Sydney are okay. But please, for the love of God, don't saddle your child with a name like Addison or Addie. Addie is fine as a nickname.

I think it's Grey's Anatomy, but I'm not entirely sure. And I'm sorry if I overreacted at the Addison thing, I just cringe every time I hear it! Honestly, I think it's partly because that's how my little sister used to say my name when she was too young to pronounce it properly, so it always reminds me of a little kid mispronouncing 'Alison'.

I know people who have a daughter named Adelaide, and they call her 'Addie' for short, just to throw a suggestion out there. I don't know if you like Adelaide at all, but hey. :P

ahh, we don't watch it... but know i've researched it and it's definately off our list! :)


Adelaide is actually the hubby's grandmother's name and our first choice.. however, his mother HATES her mother-in-law, (and me actually)
and we discussed it w/ my father-in-law and we all decided that it would not be the best idea to use it because none of us want to fear the wrath of my MIL! :)
