So i was talking to my boss yesterday about baby names. She told me she's pregnant, but i don't know if she's screwing with me or not... she does that sometimes. anyway, her favorite name for a boy is Tiberius. She would call him Tiber for short. I don't like the n/n so much, but Tiberius isn't that bad... her favorite girl names are Isadora, Penelope (but NOT Penny for a n/n) and Jezebel. I told her that if she named her daughter Jezebel, there were bound to be "whore jokes" for the rest of the poor childs life. WDYT?

Tiber is a river in Italy, but it might be called differently in Italian ;)
I'm not a fan of Tiber(ius). I like Penelope.

Isidora and Isadore were joke names we told people we had picked out during my last pregnancy. our last name starts with a 'dor' sound...

Penelope and Isadora are cute. Tiberius is...eh. I generally like Roman names, but Tiberius seems more like a name for a pet to me, and Tiber would be an awful nick name. Jezebel...I'm not even going to begin with that.

Tiberius is Captain Kirk from Star Trek's middle name... James Tiberius Kirk.

My hubby suggested it as a possible middle name for our baby if it's a boy and I told him I will not allow that name for my child:P

Tiber is an awful nickname, but Ty might be alright. I don't think I'd name my child Tiberius without having a very good nickname for him to fall back on, though (Ty or otherwise).

Same for Penelope. I don't like Penny, and I can't think of any other good nicknames for it at the moment.

Isadora and Jezebel are ok--kids wouldn't know the connotations for Jezebel, and I would hope other parents would be mature enough not to say anything.

Jezebel (actually Jezabel) is one of my guilty pleasures, but unfortunately one could never escape the whore association.

Tiberius is rather silly to me. Any latin name ending in -ius from the latin is, to me. Tiberio is the italian modern version, but I wouldn't recommend that one either. I don't mind the sound of Tiber, but I like Timber more, it sounds more complete.

i knew a guy named tiberius and he went by ty.

i like penelope, and isadora is ok too. in college, i had a friend named penelope and she went by poppy.
