[identity profile] babyjess8.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I was reading the local newspaper the other day about a woman who was talking about healthcare in the region - she was about to have her seventh child! The interesting thing? All of the children (I assume the pattern will continue onto baby #7) have been named in alphabetical order!

Anastacia
Beatrice
Cecilia
Dominic
Edward
Francis
G...

What do you think about the alphabet pattern? I think it's a little over the top myself, but the sib names go really well together. If I had to guess, I reckon the baby will be called George if a boy, or Georgia/Genevieve if a girl.

If you were naming A-G yourself, what would you name? (I'll leave the sex to you!)

I'd have:
Asher
Benjamin
Caitlin
Dominic
Evan
Francesca
Georgia

As to the other question, I think going alphabetically is pretty hokey (although I guess it's the naming equivalent to school uniforms--just makes things simpler). On top of that, unless you have a lot of damned kids, there are going to be really great names later in the alphabet that you'll never get to use, R's, S's, V's...

I loove their names. I don't even mind the pattern because its not THAT obvious. Mine would be

Asher
Beatrice
Catherine
Dominic (nn Nico 100% of the time)
Eleanor
Finn
Gabriel (sometimes Gabe)

it reminds me of that book i read as a kid, i can't remember the name of the book, but all the kids were named alphabetically but the mom used, like the first A name, second B name, and so on and so forth. there were like twelve or so kids in the family.

all i remember were Abigail and Bainbridge...

I agree, it's a little over the top, but I like it better than most other theme names =)

April/Adam
Bronmai/Bram
Carson/Collen
Dagmar/Dominic
Emily/Eli
Florence/Finian
Geneva/Grant

(I wouldn't use Grant, but it's the only remotely likeable boy's name with a G I can think of right now)

Abigail
Bainbridge
C
D
E
Faustine (?)
Gardiner (?)
Hannah
Ira
Jan
Kelly/Keegan (it was their unborn sibling)

my memory is failing me, but some of the names were pretty unforunate. :(

I feel like I should explain Fenway in particular; I'm a huge Red Sox fan and I love the nickname Finn, but I couldn't decide between Finley and Finlay, so I chose Fenway instead.

Claudia / Conrad
Diana / Darius

Flannery / Ferdinand
Ginevra / Gryphon

I realized after blinking at this for a bit that the problem is the G line, since BOTH could be Harry Potter tributes (they're not). But since my theoretical G kid would only be one, not both, I suppose it's not HP overkill and the choices stay.
