I'm reading 'The Price of Salt' at the moment and two of the characters have interesting names.

Hargess (nn Harge)
Nerinda (nn Rindy)

I personally don't like either.

Also, the protagonist is named Therese, and she pronounces it TEH-reh-z. I sort of like it.

I love the name Therese. My best friend's middle name is Therese, and she pronounces it Ter-ayz.

Is that how you prn it? I wasn't sure if you mean 'reh' as in the word 'jet' or as an 'ay' sound.
