Holden is my favorite boy's name. i just saw it spelled Holdon in an article i was reading. WDYT?

ETA: i like the suggested meaning of "hold on," but i'm not sold on the spelling.

Holden is near the top of the list for me too, but that just makes me cringe. I definitely see 'hold on' first, but maybe that's just power of suggestion...?

Either way, the name should stay -en, definitely.

I def. think that Holden is the better way to spell it. ♥

I like Holden a lot, despite a really random bad association (nothing to do with Caufield, I've never actually read that book!), but Holdon looks wrong to me, like it should be said whole-don or something.

I really don't like it. I love Holden, but Holdon just seems weird, and it doesn't look right at all.

I used to work with a little kid named Holden, and to be honest he ruined me that name forever. I think it is great, but I hear it and flinch!

I agree about Hold On, but I always thought Holden sounded as if someone who had a Southern Accent saying "Holding".

Same here... I can't objectively judge the name, because I had a horrible teacher whose last name was Holden, and knew a really bratty little kid whose name was Holden. As much as I love Catcher in the Rye, when I hear the name, all I can think of is those two people.

i prefer Holden over Holdon... i guess because i love the name Holden from the book, so i would spell it that way to honor that. if i just liked the name, though, i might be open to different spellings.

Ew Holdon is a horrible spelling. When I see it I want to say Hold on, not Holden.

I'm not a huge fan of the name anyway but I'd only ever spell it Holden.

Holden to me reminds me of the car. I don't like it.
