Oct. 9th, 2007 11:22 pmOk so there are some names that are just sticking out in my head lately. Who knows how long they will stick but I figured I'd get opinions on them. Of course my old favorites are still on top...but there are cool to think about too.
So what do you think of these girls names?
I'm going to try not to list many that I have posted before and I'm sorry if I do.
Also I know some people here really dislike unisex/ traditionally male names for girls but...I do like some of them.
Don't say I didn't warn you hehe.
In no particular order...
Rowan
Emerson
Quinn
Rory
Kiersten
Grace (nn Gracie)
Ariana
Emilie
Gabrielle (no nn. I dislike Gabby)
Natalie
Riley (or Rylie. Which spelling?)
Jade (or Jada...which one?)
ok those are the main ones at least. wdyt.

Date: 2007-10-10 03:39 am (UTC)Emerson is definitely a masculine name to me. I like it was a middle name, as it's a family surname, but I definitely don't like it on a girl. Maybe as a middle name, but definitely not as a first.

Date: 2007-10-10 03:39 am (UTC)why spell emilie like that? why not emily?
grace is pretty and classic, but...too classic. it's starting to get boring.
gabrielle and natalie are my favorites of your list. they are well known and used but not trendy.

Date: 2007-10-10 03:52 am (UTC)I don't mind Quinn or Rory but like them better on boys.
I like Jade better than Jada but I'm not crazy about either of them.
And also weird because I have really good friends named Natalie, Gabrielle and Kirsten (pronounced Kerstin, but still). Natalie gets called Nat and Gabrielle gets called Gabby/Gab a lot. It's just so much easier. So if you don't like Gabby, I would be careful.

Date: 2007-10-10 07:17 am (UTC)Hate hate hate Rory as it has become so common since Gilmore Girls, and I don't like when people directly name after televison characters, especially when they have odd names
Love Ariana, Grace and Jade/Jada... I prefer Jada though
PS Rylie looks terrible... stick with Riley, or Reilly for a boy

Date: 2007-10-10 10:34 am (UTC)Emerson - I think it's too masculine, and it'd be ugly on a boy too.
Quinn - It's ok. Not my style.
Rory - Argh. I hate this on a girl, I think it's ridiculous. It's like naming a girl John or Robert :-/
Kiersten - It's ok.
Grace (nn Gracie) - It's ok
Ariana - Pretty
Emilie - I think if it's pronounced the same as Emily then that is a better way to spell it.
Gabrielle (no nn. I dislike Gabby) - I think Gabrielle is ok and I agree about Gabby.
Natalie - I think it's quite a harsh sounding name. The "Nat" makes me think of gnats.
Riley (or Rylie. Which spelling?) - Too masculine
Jade (or Jada...which one?) - Tacky
