Do you know any other names that end with -lissa?  I'm partial to it but trying to avoid naming a character Lisa (though I love that name).  :)

I like Melissa a lot; Malissa, for some reason, has always been a favorite of mine.

I like Alissa, too, but Elissa seems like a misspelling; I'd stick with Alissa.

Out of those three my favourite is Elissa. I also like Alissa. I'm not crazy about Melissa though.

As a Melissa, I can't say I love it. However, if you're looking to name a character, it's maybe the most common and less vaguely Mary Sue-ish of those choices, at least in my eyes.

I've always liked Alyssa/Alissa. I think it sounds elegant and lovely. But I'm not a big fan of Elissa. Or Marissa. And I think Melissa is pretty, but it's WAY too common for my comfort. (I'm a Melissa, and I have known/met so many of them that the name just seems boring and bland and overused in my eyes.)

and noone EVERY spells it correctly... and actually i get called Michelle alot!?

Malissa, Malisa, Mallisa, Mellisa, Mellissa, Melisa, and even though i know it's a typo most likely Melisssa has appeared on a few things that others have typed for me!

and i definatley don't understand the Melissa/Michelle connection especially with so many other female names that start with "Mel" but my cousin and other friends that are Michelles have also been called Melissa!? so at least it goes both ways
