[identity profile] requiem-morrow.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Ok, so at work today I got stuck on hold for a solid thirty minutes....so I went through the department phone list and picked out the names that I only knew one person with that name. With my job, I come in to contact with a  diverse people bunch of folks. Some of the names, when I really thought about don't seem unique, but I really only know one person with the name:) There are twice as many girl names than boy names, but I think people are generally more conservative with boy names.

I learned a LONG time ago that there is nobody else on the planet with my name. My first name is Crystal-Dawn. I gave my daughter an unusual name too and her name is Baylynn.

Thank you. It's impossible to find anything with her name on it though. LOL And considering our younger daughter is Madison...Baylynn's NOT Happy that we can find tons of stuff with her sister's name and nothing with hers. LOL

That's understandable. I used to have to buy double of everything. One thing would say Crystal, the other would say Dawn. LOL

It's great to know I'm not the only Crystal-Dawn and you present a fantastic argument for Baylynn not being a real name considering there are a few people with that name.

agreed... in a baby names book i have, there are a few names whose meanings are simply "combination name1 + name2" lol. for example: Kaylynn "combination of Kay and Lynn."

Her first name is Crystal-Dawn? That's pretty cool. Where is she from?

And thanks for your opinion on Baylynn, everyone that I've ever known has always loved it.

When someone comments to someone else and informs them that it's their daughter's name, it's pretty rude to be so hateful about the name. Especially when the first commenter to do so only commented to piss me off.

Well considering this started between myself and the original poster, it should have stayed that way if someone wasn't too fond of my name or my daughter's name, they could very easily have kept their comments to themselves since it had nothing to do with them and you didn't need to involve yourself either since nothing was ever addressed to you.

You did comment to me instead of the other commenter. I was only aware that you said anything after I got a notice in my email.

Cindarella... omg... that poor, poor child.

Although there are many nicknames she could choose to use: Cindy, Indi, Ella, Relle, Ellie, Elle, Darell, etc

So you're having kids just so they'll get beat up? That's sweet.

My partner is the only Coren I've ever met or heard of in my life, though I did read a book once where one of the character's secret names was Coren. I adore the name, honestly -- it's unusual without trying too hard to be different, and interesting but still very much a man's name.

Additionally, my grandfather was, at least according to some death index search I did awhile back, the only Kerswell registered in the United States since the social security index started. That may have changed, but that's how it was. As family lore goes, though, he hated his name and demanded to be called Kers.

As for your list -- my cousin is Bradford Amadeus, though that's a middle name and not a first (and poor guy, by the way). I actually know a bazillion Darlenes (seems to have been a fairly common name for Manitoban girls circa 1960-70) and quite a few Priscillas, which is in my experience popular with the Filipino community here.

Christabel is damn cute though.
