My niece has a new little brother, thanks to her dad and his wife.

Covey Wayne (prn. liked Cody, but with a V)

WDYT?

It makes me think of Goofy (Disney). Because the pronunciation of Goofy is close to the way we pronounce it here. Sorry!

Congratulations on your new nephew. Too bad he's going to have to explain his name his whole life, because "covey" is a real word, and it's pronounced Kuh-vee. Is his daddy a hunter? I've only ever heard covey used in connection with quail.

My first thought, actually, was that it sounds like one of my old, downhome, Southern, reeeeel kuntry customers. Not necessarily in a bad way, just the kind of guy who would drive a beat-up Ford pickup. While chewing on a piece of straw. He'd also probably like hog jowl.

That's...my first impression.

Isn't that a company name? Regardless, don't like it.

It's not so bad. It could be worse.
