So, there's a girl I chat to online, who introduced herself to me over the phone as Amber Leanne. Or at least that's what I assumed. Then I checked her profile the other day to find it's actually Amberly-Anne, hyphen and all.

A mutual friend of ours assures me it's real, and that apparently she hates it. That's why her screen name is Rebecca - which I always thought an odd online name.

I'll go on and say that I'm not a huge fan. But it's certainly unusual! WDYT?

That's unusual indeed...it makes me feel like the parents couldn't decide between Kimberly and Amber. And then suddenly realized they had to throw 'Anne' in too.
Nope, I'm not a fan either.
I think Rebecca is alright though. But I hate the nn Becky! ;)

It makes me think of Raggedy Ann.

I knew a girl named Randy-Anne (or Randi-Anne, or Randianne, or something). I think she was named after her father, Randy.

I think Amberly is kind of nice, which is odd because I REALLY don't like most names that are two or three other names squashed together. Amberly-Anne is a crime though.

I've come across the name Amberleigh, which I assumed was of the same genre as Kimberleigh. But on second thought, I realized Kimberleigh was kr8v for Kimberly and Amberleigh was just probably Amber Lee/Leigh combined.

I don't mind Amberleigh, but my formal choices would always be Amber and Kimberly, not mix-and-matches of the two.

The hyphen just makes it really bad. Amberly isn't horrible but Amberly-Ann... no...

Love Amberly, don't love Amberly-Anne. Or Rebecca for that matter.

I don't like it, but I actually really like Amber Leanne.

I think Amberley is a mix up of Kimberley and Amber.

This actually made me laugh. It sounds like a character on a kid's show or something. That's horrible though. The Amberly bit is bearable, but Anne pushes it over the edge.

Amber Leanne is nicer. Amberly-Anne is so strawberry shortcakish.

ick. amberly sounds like someone trying to turn the name amber into an adverb and i'm not a fan of hyphenated names at all. i like the name amber though, i wonder why she just doesn't go by that?

Haha 'Hi my name is Amberly-Anne but you can call me Rebecca'
Why doesn't she just go by Amber?

I actually don't mind Amberly but I don't like it with the hyphen
