Every Tuesday I tutor at an inner city elementary school, and some of the kids have really...interesting names. These kids are preschool to third grade, by the way.
Kiah (the "Ki" is pronounced like the beginning of Kyle. I would like it better spelled Kaia)
Sasha
Darquis (hard "qu", pronounced Darkees)
Antonio
Tevawn* (Pronoucned Tey-Vaun)
Jalynn (male, prn. Jay-LYNN)
Annaliyah (I admit, I think this is really pretty)
Taylor (f.)
Isis
Brandon
Rashad*
Kordell
Racinda*
Michael "MJ" (I think the J is for Junior, his father is called Michael too)
*= I'm not sure about the spelling, there could be random apostrophes or intercapitalizations in a lot of these.

Date: 2007-10-03 03:49 am (UTC)Annaliyah is another one that i like to say, but it looks too much all spelled out, imo.
i like the name Rashad... i think i like it mostly because it means "good judgment" lol
Isis, again i like... but i wouldn't use it.
i don't like Kordell or Racinda, at all.
