ok, so what's the consensus on the name Kitana?

Has anyone else been 38 weeks pregnant and still had no idea what to name their baby?

My older sister didn't name her baby until she was in the hospital, and she knew the gender of it already, lol.

Like the previous commenter said, some people don't even name them till they give birth. You could always take a baby name book or since you're so decided on "Kit" in there somewhere, look around everywhere you possibly can online write down a few and go over them with your hubby during L&D, of course when you're not in excruciating pain/contractions. :)

It's ok- I think it'd grow on me :) and the n/n Kit would be cute.

As far as waiting on the name- heck w/ my son- he was 3 days old and we were about to leave the hospital & still had to sign the birth certificate w/ no name... so we had to pick one ASAP...
w/ my daughter- we flipped a coin after she was born- I liked one name- my hubby liked another, so we flipped a quarter the day after she was born lol

Kit is a cute name, not so much Kitana, as it's the name of a sword. Something akin to nameing your child "Dagger" or "Butcher's Knife"

And lots of people decide on the name once they see their baby. Or they decided to call their kid (Eric) and have the baby and decide he looks more like a (Steve)

I was just going to say...that's the name of a sword. My husband used to be involved in martial arts.

I Love Kitana.

And I am 36 weeks, don't know the sex, and still haven't rounded it down from our list of 6 names.

Mmmm, the weapon is katana, but I think people might still make the association.

I am wondering if you might like Kirsten - it seems like Kit would work as a short form of that name as well.

...is a sword, and well known one at that. I'd seriously advise against naming your child against weapons. She'll be teased to death, and who wants to be named after a sword?!? Would you name your son Dagger? :P I say a big fat no.

I wasn't firmly named until I was born. Mom picked my middle name because the nurses wouldn't let her sleep until she chose something. Luckily she picked a good one (Kate).

I llove your icon! Llamas are great.

Your husband doesnt like just having Kit as the name? I think that would work best for you, since it seems that neither of you would ever call her by her full name anyways.

It reminds me of katana, because I watch too much epic fantasy anime. Katana being a type of sword. If you guys really like the name I say go with it, just realise people will call her katana as a nick name.

Um. Kit is still cool though. And I actually could see an older person with that name. I think Kit is the kind of name that can have whatever association you want, so long as the person who has the name likes the name herself.

My mom told me when my brother went four days without a name. They were gonna name him John Wayne after the actor, but they decided to go with Eric.

if you cant decide now, decide when you give birth :) I like the name Kit, but not Kitana. :)

I dont think Kitana flows too well. People have suggested Kirsten, but i prefer Kristen lol.
I'm sure you will make the perfect decision once you see her :-)
I was called Kezia for 3 days & then my dad decided at the last last minute that he didnt like the name as it's in the bible (weird, yes) so they changed it to Sophy. My mum has never forgiven my dad!

I don't like Kitana. But Katherine, Kathleen, Kristin, Kristen, Kirsten, Kristina, Kristine, Kathryn, Katarina, etc. can all nick to Kit if you're set on the nickname.
