Girl Names

I'm having a baby in April and, although I don't know the sex yet, I'm having a damn hard time coming up with girl names. All my life I had a huge list of girl names that I liked and little to no boy names. Now, here I am with my boy name pretty much decided and very little in the way of girl names. I dunno. I'm really frustrated. I know I still have 7 months to decide but I don't necessarily want to leave it until the last minute.

Here is my very short list of girl names (none of which I LOVE though):
Carmen/Carmela
Cecily
Isobel
Maile
Piper

Right now I'm undecided if I'll give the baby my last name or the father's last name but it will either be Trenholm or MacEachern.

Suggestions?!?

I really love Carmen and Isobel.

Browse the community, look at people's lists on babynames.com. I can't really give you suggestions because everyone is different. I'd just look around, and try to find some names you like.

I'm not expecting anytime soon but I agree that it's easier for me to pick out a boy's name compared to a girl!

I absolutely live Maile.

Carmen Isobel could be a really good combo. I also like Piper and you could always go with a cutesie nickname like 'Pipi' or something, lol.

Some other ideas:
Vanessa Carmela
Rhiannon Carmela
Victoria Carmela
Gabrielle Maile
Cassidy Isobel
Cassandra Carmela
Madison Carmela

I LOVE the name Piper! That's my favorite on your list. Isobel is really nice too though.

If it's any help, if you're not married, I recommend just giving the baby your last name. I gave my son my ex's last name when he was born, and I deeply regret it now. I think he hates it that he's the odd man out, my husband, I, and the new baby will all have the same last name, and he won't. Since my ex is a douche, he won't let me legally change it back from his to my husbands. Plus, I HATE being called Mrs. (ex's last name) with a passion. Just a tid-bit of advice :)

Of your list, I'm only loving Piper. Way cute. The others, not so much. I feel your pain, this time, I am only interested in girls names. I have no ideas or interest in boys names. Though, I was like that with my son. I knew exactly what I was having and what I was going to name him. I hope that's the case this time, I seriously can't find a boys name that does it for me! I'm so screwed if it's not a girl.

i agree with you, i also gave my son my ex's last name- i was under extreme pressure to do so- & now also regret it! i was with my boyfriend for years, so i just assumed we'd get married & all that stuff... but things just didn't work out as planned :\

I like Cecily, Isobel, and Carmen. I don't like Carmela, Maile, or Piper. Especially Piper. It sounds so silly.

Here are some names I like:

Norah
Margaret (nickname: Meg, but you could go with Maggie)
Camilla
Rosalie
Irene
Tessa
Jane

Cecily/Cicily-I think it's a really underated pretty name (which is good in baby name land!)
Carmen/Carmela- I definitely prefer Carmela. What about Camilla?
Isobel- Pretty but very popular.
Maile- Eh, a bit eh.
Piper- Too unisex.
