What do you all think of this name, and for a boy or girl?
I have only ever known boys named Darcy.

not fond of it for either sex. i would choose a girl for that name, though. i've heard of a tv character by that name and she was female.

Girl name. But only white trash girls from Iowa are named Darcy.

Well, regardless of the Mr Darcy connection I think it's quite feminine.
Darcy Bussell is one of the most famous English Ballerina's and I always think of her.

For some reason Colin Firth immediately pops into my mind...now that's interesting.
Obviously I think it's a boy's name. I don't really like it.

Growing up I read a book where the girl was called Darcy, so when I found out it was actually a boys name I was shocked! It still sounds girly to me.

I think Owen is nice and Darcy is ugly. To each his own. :P

The world is a cruel place. :P

It's true, though, if there's a 'pretty' boy's name, it often gets turned into a girl's name. Ashley and Leslie are good examples (although I hate Leslie).

Well, D'arcy Wretzky rocked the name in the Pumpkins....but other than that it's not so great.

However, I do like Darcy alot more than DARBY. Ugh...

the only reason i like the name is because of D'arcy.

it makes me sad that her and james didn't come back for the new album...

I'd only use it for a girl

It's ok...and for girls only IMO.

only for a girl! i know a baby named darcy and it really suits her.

I've only seen it as a girl's name. I think it works better as a name for a fictional character than a real person.

I can see it on both but prefer it on boys.

Initially it brings to mind Mr. Darcy. I think Darcy is ugly on a girl, too feminine for a boy.
