This was far too general a remark...I agree that lots of people today DO have terrible (IMO) taste. But in this community? Most people have perfectly fine lists. That's probably why they're in a baby names group in the first place; they have good taste that they're proud of and want to explore endless names--not just the lame trendy ones that happen to be popular.

Yeah and it depends on the definition of 'terrible'. Do they mean terrible as kre8iv names like McKayleigh or Ryeleigh or terrible as in popular names like Emily and Michael or terrible as in lovely, dust-collecting favourites that no one seems to use because they sound "old" like Edith and Walter?

You got a VERY mixed response, not even an overall flood of negative feeling like that one girl who wanted to name her son Arson. If we don't all feel the same way about every name, how is it possible for us to all have poor taste?

Have you even looked at some of the statistics on the submitted baby name lists? Anything out of the top 50 is likely to get about a third as many thumbs-up and thumbs-down, and that makes sense. 'Cause out of all the names on this good, green earth, you like a lot fewer than you dislike or don't care about, right?

So WHAT makes you think that every single member here would suddenly love all your favorites?
