(no subject)

Robert Wesley was born September 4th at 9:35am.
He weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 18 inches long.

He is very pretty. And tiny. I love him so much. Duh. In case you didn't get that.

We have been calling him Bobbie. I really liked the name while I was pregnant but I'm not as fond of the nick name for a baby now that he is born. Maybe when he is older. If anyone has any other suggestions. Things to consider: His father's name is Robert Wesley (Wes), his grandfather is Robert William (Bobby) and his great- grandfather is Robert (Rob). I don't want to use the nickname Robbie.

After he was born my mom wanted me and Bobbie to stay with her for awhile, but right now I feel really comofortable at Wes's house. We might move in there a little later, but I really like that Wes's little brothers are around Bobbie so much. Plus Wes's mom works from home so its convenient to get help from her at any time of day, while my mom works all day away from home. So I don't know. But I am happy right now. And I plan to be back in school next semester.

X-posted like mad.

my dad's name is robert, and he's been called Bob or Bobby since he was born. His sisters dubbed him when he was first born [he's the only boy out of 6 sisters] mr. bob. i think that's so cute!

lol. but you can only call him that for like the first few years. my dad was given all sorts of nicknames when he was younger. here's a few that i can remember:

Mr. Bob
Bobbert
Bobbio [like Daddy-o]
Bobo [lol]

That's all I can think of for now!

lol. bobbert reminded me of an old claymation thing i used to watch. with the clay man and dog. oh, whatever. i think it's mr. bob. besides, you can call him that up to a certain age, like around 4 or 5, before calling him by his real name. because by the age of 6, it's no longer cute anymore. lol.

I knew a guy whose name was Robert for for some reason his nickname was "Bud" or Buddy...I thought it was cute for him anyway...or you could just call him Rob? I dont know..I'm not too good with nicknames :) sorry

Why not just not use a nickname?

i love your icon! it looks like it could've been taken from the balcony of my apartment! :)

I am so jealous that you live downtown. I am stuck on the lowly south side. :(
Feel free to take the icon if you want. I requested it at [livejournal.com profile] organicdesigns, but it's up for anyone to use.

we were on the waiting list for our apartment for something like 9 months...but our apartment faces the canal so it was worth it!

and we almost moved to the "lowly" south side because we both work down there. and i had to do a double take to make sure that was indy :) and thanks! :)

I agree. I like the name Robert by itself.

You could also use Rab, which is a Scottish pet form.

Robert is a very old name, and there were many different pet forms in use in the medieval times (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~oel/givennames2.html). I wouldn't recommend all of these, but a few would be usable today:

Hob
Hopkin
Dob
Dobbin
Nob
Bob
Rob
Robin
Robelot
Hobelot
Robinet
Dobinet

i like just robert. bobbie is cute, but with the "ie" instead of the "y" at the end, it seems kind of feminine.

I kinda dig Bertie, actually.
