(no subject)

Some random names I came across on birth announcement sites:

Milton
Tobias
Nate
Lachlan
Clive
Jackson
Tanner
Clayton

Matilda
Eloise
Lana
Jacinta

And the usual crime-against-names:

Jhett
Ashtyn
Mikayla
Jaxson
Alexzander

Thoughts?

I named my dog Tobias so that one is out of the question. I've always hated Tanner, it sounds cheap.. Really the only ones I like are Eloise and Lachlan. Although, I don't think I would ever use Eloise. It's cute though.

I like Eloise a lot.
I love Jett, and i'm thinking Jhett might not be tat odd afterall Rhett is legit.

My neighbour kid is called Tobias, and one of the Dutch princesses is called Eloise. So yeah...that's what they remind me of.
I like Lana & Jackson. And Matilda is kinda cute. Even if it was just because the book and the movie are awesome ;)

My son's name is Jackson, but we call him Jack.

I actually know two people with the name Milton. My friend Wes's little brother is named that, and a little boy I babysit has that as his middle name (I think it's the mother's maiden name).

I really like Tobias & Nate.

Ummmm that last set of names? Horrendous. Seriously. Ashton and Jett are horrible enough spelled CORRECTLY.

I like Nathan, but think Nate as a given name sounds incomplete. I like Jackson, and an LJ-friend has a 6-day-old named that, and also like Eloise and Matilda. I like Clayton and Lachlan, but wouldn't use them myself.

Funny about Mikayla/Michaela/etc. A friend of mine was expecting a little girl and decided on the name Michaela, but got a bunch of crap from her family over the name, particularly one cousin who swore that the little girl would spend her life being called Michael(as in the boy's name)-A.

I explained that I'd only ever seen it spelled Michaela, and as far as I knew, that was the correct spelling. She agreed and her daughter's name is spelled as such.

People still give her crap. But no wonder people aren't familiar with the correct spelling, what with all this UNEEK spelling going around.

I think Tobias is nice, although it does make me think of the first place I heard it, which was the Animorphs book series :P

Eloise is adorable and I really love Clive. I don't know why I like it so much, but I really do.

Ouch....my sister in law named her baby "Alexzander" and I think it' s trashy! It just looks like she can't spell.

Lachlan and Matilda are my favorites out of the list.
