Which version do you prefer, Finley or Finlay? I’m not particularly fond of the name, just kind of curious.

Is it a feminine name to you, masculine name, or both?

This name was on my list a couple years ago!
Then I found out I was having a girl, so it kind of found itself off the list.

More of a masculine name to me anyway.

And my fish is a boy, thus I find it masculine.

It's a last name to me. The only person I've ever known named that was a girl though. And her mother, honest to goodness, named her Finley after seeing it the toe tag of a dead man. It was his last name.

Masculine and Finley, though I think of it only as a surname

I think Finlay is the more feminine spelling, but both are pretty masculine to me.

I like Finley and I think it's feminine. I'm feeling odd-man-out. Haha. I just, honestly, cannot imagine it an a boy. I've never known anyone with this name, though, so I haven't had it gender-assigned or anything. It's actually in my top three girl names.

Finley. I always want to say Fin-LAY when I see Finlay, which bugs me, since I hate when people pronounce my name Lind-SAY.

It's definitely masculine. I hate the idea of Fin(n) on a little girl.

I like Finley but I doubt I would ever use it as a name myself. I see it as predominately masculine but I wouldn't think poorly of a little girl named Finely.

where I work, we have a bunch of two year olds with "finn" names.
Finley - Boy
Finlay - Girl (and gets very cross when int's prn fin-ley instead of fin-LAY. she also has three mummies!)
Finn - Boy
Finnigan - Boy

omg, how odd. i've never seen anyone with that name (outside of book characters, Finn) and you have 4. wow!

i usually don't jank folks names, but in this case i've got to say...finnigan, like phenergran (sp), like the stuff that keeps you from vomiting? i dunno. just odd. but whatever. not my business, i suppose.

I just think Finlay is kind of awkward looking. I'd prefer either on a boy though.
