Ideas?

We just found out we're having a boy. Another one. This will be our third. My husband and I had a HORRIBLE time picking out the name of last. It's so hard for us to find something we like, let alone agree on. Our last name is short so we're looking for a first name that's a little bit longer. With our two sons, we have a Christian and Alexander. We don't shorten their names because then it would be too common--Chris and Alex.

This time we want something that is not an everyday common name, yet something that can easily be prounounced. I like the name Anderson, while my husband said there's a news guy on cable with that first name, and our exact last name as well. My husband likes the name Harrison. I'm not so sure about that one. Anyways, Where do you get your inspiration? The online lists of baby names are not any help--always listing the most popular/common. Are there any unusual websites out there? Or does anyone have an ideas or have heard of any interesting boy names?

TIA!

I definitely prefer Harrison to Anderson. Anderson is way too surnamey, also two boys with A and one with C would annoy me.

hmm.. but you don't give the other boys nicknames so it would be easy to stick to Harrison rather than Harry.

I always loved Anders, and Leander as alternatives to Anderson. Sadly, since this is now my last name, those 2 options are out for me.

^^ This site lets you type in a name and see a graph of it's popularity over the years.

I think Harrison is ok. I know people have already givin you a ton of suggestions, but I think that William would sound really nice with your other names. It is also an easy to use as a "full" name. People named Christoper are going to get called Chris. But people don't immediately shorten William to Willy, Bill or Liam.

Good Luck!

I love Bennett. I also love Barrett, but SO's best friend's son is Barrett (nn Bear, which I think is uber-adorable.)

And of your names below, I also like Jameson, but I could never name a child that, because it happens to be the name of the whiskey I use in Car Bombs and Irish Coffee.

I LOVE the name Christian, so that's awesome. I don't love Harrison, or really much of anything ending in -son, especially since I think they would sound trendier than the two names you already have. But what do I know?
