[identity profile] oh-vibrant.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Hey my names Jasmine, I've never actually made a post, but it's probably my most frequently visited community.

Here are names that i currently have chosen for my future babehs. ^-^

James Dashiell (Jamie); After my grandad who i was very close too, passed away last year. I'm not a fan of James itself but love the idea of naming my firstborn son after my grandad, so thus Jamie came along. It actually came from a dream i had. Dashiell, because i can't really find a good middle name, in suggestions?

and for girls;

Sabella Lucia (nn Bella)
Arielle Mila (nn Ari)
Lucy Sweethearte
Lily Jasmine

Some old names i had on my list;

Verity Jane
Wesleigh Samantha
Matilda Frances
Delilah Belle
(not from the song.)
Sebastien Travis
Sullivan
(nn. Sully)

And just some names that are floating around me, be they friends, family, clients, coworkers. It's always good to have some different names out there, you never know you may find the perfect name :]

Owen
Ceri (pn. kerry, she's welsh)
Phillipa (Pippa)
Zavion
Alec
Zeik
Adrienne
Sharma
Asher
Carys
Aloma
Teina ( pn. Tayna)
Jayah
Olive
Sheridan
Mackenzie
Belinda
Jacinda
Dayna
Bianca
Rachelle
Adelle

^-^

I actually kinda like James Dashiell! =) I really like Arielle as well, and even though I'm not a fan of Mila, I think it goes well with Arielle =)
I also like Matilda Frances...it sounds a little old fashioned to me, but in an awesome way. Lucy Sweethearte is too much though, IMO.
& I can't believe you know someone called Zeik, that's Dutch for 'piss' =P

Would Arielle be pronounced like AIR-E-L, or ARE-E-L. I prefer the latter; it's a gorgeous name.

I really like James, but Dashiell is...well, up to you. I like James a lot, though.

I also adore Arielle and Lucy, but Sweethearte is, um, well...not exactly a great middle name. I beg of you, PLEASE don't give your daughter that middle name. It sounds like a nickname, at best, or a a stripper/prostitute name, at worst. What about Lucy Jane, or Lucy Samantha, or even Lucy Delilah?

Arielle Mila isn't really my style when it comes to the flow, but Mila isn't horrible, and I think it's really cute :)

Arielle, Lucy, James, Matilda, Samantha, Jane, Frances, Sullivan, and Travis are all great names. I like them all a lot, but the others...not so much.

i was about to write the exact same thing. even if you are going to use, 'sweetheart', why the extra 'e'?

Wesleigh...no matter how you spell it...is a male name. I have a male name, and have hated it my whole life. Why parents make this mistake of giving an adorable baby girl a man's name, no matter how you spell it, will leave a mark on that child for the rest of her life. Trust me I'm living proof of that. And Sweethearte....is just not Sweet at all as a name.

James Dashiell, Verity Jane and Matilda Frances are all wonderful. I'm not a big fan of the rest.

James Dashiell (Jamie) -Not bad. I prefer Jamey for the spelling, though.
Sabella Lucia (nn Bella)-I'm not too sure about Sabella.
Arielle Mila (nn Ari) -I like it.
Lucy Sweethearte -I prefer Lucy as a nickname for Lucinda, and please no! to Sweethearte. That's way too stripper-ish to me.
Lily Jasmine -Too many plant names here. I like Lily, though.
Verity Jane -I love it.
Wesleigh Samantha -No! Wesley is a boy's name.
Matilda Frances -I adore this name. It's old-fashioned and charming.
Delilah Belle (not from the song.) -A bit cutesy, but I love it.
Sebastien Travis -I prefer Sebastian, but this is nice too.
Sullivan (nn. Sully)-Not a big fan of last names as first names.

I don't like Wesleigh at all, or Sabella. I love Bianca, Verity, and Lily a lot. Arielle is one of my favourites.

Oh, I forgot to add that Sabella is a worm.

From the dictionary:

[NL., fr. L. sabulum gravel.]
(Zoöl.) A genus of tubicolous annelids having a circle of plumose gills around the head.

Sabella Lucia (nn Bella)
Arielle Mila (nn Ari)
Lucy Sweethearte
Lily Jasmine

Lily is pretty as is Jasmine, but I think pairing two flower names together is overkill.

Sweethearte? I'm sorry, but that's awful. The extra "e" makes it sound even trashier. It sounds like a stripper name!

Sabella? Please ditch this one, as it's actually a worm.

Verity Jane
Wesleigh Samantha
Matilda Frances
Delilah Belle (not from the song.)
Sebastien Travis
Sullivan (nn. Sully)

Wesleigh is a boy's name, no matter how you spell it, but I do like the rest.

That's fine. I always like to offer these tidbits so that people can make more informed decisions.

My stepmother teaches in the biology department at university, so in my family it would be a mistake to assume that nobody would know. I mourn also for the loss of Annelida, a perfectly upstanding name from Chaucer (in a variation of the tale told by the Knight in the Canterbury Tales). Yes, you guessed it: another worm! :)
