Can you give me suggestions for two-syllable middle names to go with Theodora?
Our last name is one syllable, so the whole name would flow best if the middle name had the emphasis on the first syllable (e.g. Car-in rather than Cor-inne, make sense?)
Our son's first and middle initials are both Js, and I'd kind of like to continue with that pattern for the rest of our children, but I can't find a two-syllable T name I like. Except for Taylor or Tyler.. but my sister already used Taylor for her second girl's middle name, and Tyler is masculine and so is Theodora, so I kind of want to stay away from those.
So, any feminine two-syllable names (preferably with emphasis on the first syllable, T or not), would be greatly appreciated. : ) Thanks.
If it makes a difference in your choice, most likely we'll be calling her Theo for short.

Date: 2007-09-07 06:01 am (UTC)but i'm using a hippie middle name, so my suggestions probably won't help you.
i just wanted to say i loooove the name, and you have good taste. :)
i hope it doesn't get popular. i don't really think it will, but you never know.

Date: 2007-09-07 11:50 am (UTC)Theodora Terra
Theodora Terryl
Theodora Thaddea
Theodora Tia
Theodora Tylda
Theodora Tyra
I don't know if any of them will help.
Out of that I like Theodora Tyra the best and for some reason Theodora Thaddea. It has a nice ring to it but I don't know if the 'Th' - 'Th' would be too much!
Btw, I really like Theodora. My son's name is Theo (not short for anything, just Theo) Since we named him we've met at least 5 Theo's. (One of which is in my not so distant family) when we knew of maybe 1 or 2 before so it does seem to be getting popular, fast!
It might be a bit different for girls named Theo(dora) but lovely name anyway :D

Date: 2007-09-07 05:35 pm (UTC)My absolute favourite T name is Tanith. I think Theodora Tanith would sound cool. Also there's Teagan, Tess, Tilly, Teri, Tamsin, Tasmin, Tiffany, Therese, Tracie, Tinkerbell (just kidding).
If you don't mind a T-a name there's Tanya, Thalia, Tamara, Tia, Tessa, Tatiana, Teresa, Trista, Tara...
I never realised how many nice names start with T. Theodora is gorgeous btw.
