[identity profile] alexandria-skye.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
today in math, my friend was talking about a trip he took to southeastern california. while there, he went into a gas station where the woman working was named "j'cole". like, nicole with the "juh" sound instead of ni... i'm not sure if there are people in this community who like the apostrophe in a name, but could someone explain the appeal? i don't understand.

There is zero point in them. I suppose it's just to look good, or make a name unique *vomits*
An apostrophe is to link two words together when there are missing letters.. pointless when it comes to names.
