I think I have seen more peculiar names on television court shows than anywhere else. Today, on one, the folks were named Charnita and Vashnee. Those are awful to me. o_o

They are Indian names. I wouldn't use them but it sounds a bit ignorant to make fun of names just because they aren't from my culture so I wouldn't laugh at them either.

I was never making fun of any name because it wasn't from my culture. I was just pointing out names that I saw and commented on them.

I guess I never thought about a culture issue being that neither of these women were Indian.

I tried to do a search on Charnita. Seems like it is a modern English name.
