Date: 2007-09-03 05:38 am (UTC)Diana - I like it, a lot, but it's not a favorite of mine. It's nice, classic.
Eliana (nn Elie) - It's okay, but I'm unsure of pronunciation. Are you saying Elie like Ee-Lee (like Elie Wiesel), or like Ellie? If it's the latter, I'd add the extra L, otherwise a lot of people will mispronounce it.
Emily - I like it, a lot. I know a lot of people who say it's overused and way too popular, which it IS very popular, but it's a great name. It's classic, and I can see this on any age. It's a gorgeous name. KEEP IT.
Eva - Way too overused lately. It's okay, but I think you have better ones on your list.
Eve - Great as a nickname for Evelyn; on it's own, it feels incomplete.
Faith - Like it, but I wouldn't use it, at least not as a first name. Otherwise you'll get those people who are like, "I have faith in Faith! Heh-heh-heh!" (who I'd like to punch; they're so annoying)
Felicity - It's okay, but I always think of either the American Girl doll, or the TV show, haha.
Fiona - Again, it's okay, but I always think of the princess in the Shrek movies.
Giselle - It makes me think of an anorexic model for some reason, or maybe even a stripper. I know, I'm being judgmental, but you have much better names on your list.
Gwen - It's okay as a nickname for Gwendolyn or Gweneth, but by itself it looks totally incomplete.
Hayden - I hate this name with a fiery passion on either sex, but it's even worse on a girl. At least it's not spelled Haydn, though.
Isobel (nn Izzie) - It's okay, but when it's spelled like this, I can't help but think of Grey's Anatomy. I like Isabel better. It looks a lot less pretentious, too.
Ivy - It's okay, but not one I'd use.
Jada - Eh, it's okay, but not anything great.
Jade - I like it a lot as a middle name.
Jaelynn - Way too trendy/unique/"creative" sounding for my tastes. It looks made up, like two names combined together.
Jamie - I really hate this name on a girl, but it could be a lot worse.
Jessica (nn Jess/Jessie) - I actually love this name. A lot of people feel like it's dated, but I think Jess is such a nice name.
Joanna (nn Joey) - I like it, a lot, but I prefer Josephine.
Jordana - I like just Jordan better. Jordana seems too cutesy.
Josephine (nn Joey) - LOVE this name. So much.
Justine - It's growing on me, but it's not one I'd use.
Kaia - too cutesy.
Kasha - Makes me think of Kashi or whatever that granola stuff is called.
Keeva - okay, but not one I'd use.
Kendall - it's too masculine, I think.
Kendra - I adore this name :)
Kiera - It's okay, but it makes me think of Kiera Knightley.
Kiersten - It's okay, but I prefer just Kristen.

Date: 2007-09-03 07:25 am (UTC)But if my name wasn't Josie, I would name my child Josephine and nn them Josie, instead of Joey. It's prettier, and more feminine. But I'm just bias.
I'm going to use Josephine as a middle name though.

Date: 2007-09-03 09:23 am (UTC)Diana - Ruined by the princess, for me. The Australian media just won't let go.
Eliana (nn Elie) - I love this!
Emily - beautiful, simple and classy.
Eva - would you pronounce it Eee-va or E-vah?
Eve - Love it.
Faith - The bad Slayer. Love it.
Felicity - Shagwell.
Fiona - Very hard to imagine as a child.
Giselle - My cousin's middle name. Her first is Larissa. It's beautiful, but hard to carry off.
Gwen - To me, this is a very old name.
Hayden - I adore it.
Isobel (nn Izzie) - I love this spelling.
Ivy - As in poison?
Jada - I like this a lot.
Jade - Beautiful.
Jaelynn - I have an all round loathing of names with "lynn" in them, aside from Evelyn.
Jamie - Very hard to carry off over 30.
Jessica (nn Jess/Jessie) - Love it.
Joanna (nn Joey) - I love Joey for a girl.
Jordana - Not too sure about this one. Maybe a middle name?
Josephine (nn Joey) - I love this. Purely because of Josie in Looking For Alibrandi.
Justine - Boring.
Kaia - Really pretty!
Kasha - How is this pronounced?
Keeva - I really dislike Keeva. I don't like double 'e' in names.
Kendall - Mint Cake.
Kendra - Too masculine.
Kiera - I prefer it spelt Ciara (Gaelic way), but that may just be my own issues coming through. I'm Kirra (pn: Kir-rah, very short, sharp and quick), who lives in the shadow of Mt. Keira (pn: Keeir-a).
Kiersten - Again, due to my own issues, I hate it.

Date: 2007-09-03 10:26 am (UTC)Of this list, I like Diana, Emily, Faith, Isobel, Joanna, Kaia & Keeva. I feel like Delilah & Eliana are names I could like...maybe they'll just have to grow on me.
I don't like Eve, because I find it boring, I don't like Giselle, because it reminds me too much of this animal (http://www.liv.ac.uk/~sdb/Safari-2003/Images/171%20Thomsons%20gazelle.jpg), I don't like Kiersten because of the spelling (why not Kirsten? =)), and I don't like Kendall, Kiera, Jamie, Jaelynn, Gwen & Ivy because it's just not my taste.
I'm indifferent about the rest =)

Jessica
Fiona
Felicity
Eve
Eva
Diana
the others, I can't even feel neutral about. I find most atrocious. Isobel needs to end in particular. Josephine would be nice if she wouldn't be called "Joey".
also: you don't put "Em" as a nickname for Emily, but you put "Jess" as a nickname for Jessica. is there somehow a difference there? both will come naturally no matter what.

Date: 2007-09-03 05:06 pm (UTC)With Jessica there is a good chance that I Wuold end up calling her Jess a good portion of the time.

Date: 2007-09-03 05:09 pm (UTC)I like both names a lot, btw. Jess & Emily would be cute names for sisters, I think.

Date: 2007-09-03 02:41 pm (UTC)Love (ie. the ones also on my fave list):
Delilah - love so much
Eva - }
Eve - }starting to prefer to Eva atm
Giselle - love so much
Isobel - really starting to prefer this spelling to Isabelle; love Izzy for a nn
Josephine - love for a mn more than a first; prefer the nn Josie
Like:
Fiona - really like
Gwen - really like, but only like Gwendolyn as a mn
Ivy - pretty
Jessica - nice
Kiera - although prefer spelt Keira
All perfectly all right, but NMS:
Diana
Eliana
Emily
Felicity
Joanna
Justine
Kasha
Keeva
Kendra
Kiersten
Dislike:
Faith - not too fond of names like this, but prefer it to Grace
Hayden - very trendy atm, especially on a girl, not so bad for a boy
Jada - see below
Jade - can't stand this name for whatever resaon, and Jada's far too similar for me to have a different opinion of it.
Jaelynn - don't like names that end in "lynn" in general
Jamie - more a boy's name to me, as I see it as a nn for James
Jordana - don't like Jordan as it is (reminds me of my brother, who, isn't a particularly nice person), but really don't like the more feminine version
Kaia - too many vowels all in a row
Kendall - makes me think of mint cake
